Please contact us if you are interested in offering Merida her forever home.

Merida was living in a garden with her four tiny babies back in March. It was obvious she had been a domestic cat as there was a lot of fussing and noise going on around her and yet she stayed put. Almost certainly, she was abandoned when pregnant.

At being caught and removed along with her babies and delivered to their foster home, Merida was both very scared and just a bit scary! She would growl and spit at her foster mum whenever she entered the room to check on the little family. She was being a protective mother, not having had much reason in her short life to trust many people. However, once her four kittens had grown to an age when they could be homed, Merida gradually changed and once she herself was spayed she became just lovely. Her foster mum says that Merida is still a bit shy with strangers but, once she gets to know you, she’s a darling. Listed amongst Merida’s many hobbies is ‘helping’ to change the bedclothes and pulling foster mum’s hand towards her for more strokes. Occasionally, when being petted, she’ll hold that hand in her mouth for a second and give it a little nip, but this is neither aggressive nor painful. She just wants and loves to play! In fact, Merida has grown from that frightened wee defensive soul who was so protective of her tiny kittens into a cuddle cat who likes to snuggle in beside her foster mum in bed at night. In common with all our rescue cats, Merida has been fully vaccinated and microchipped as well as being spayed. A home with access to a safe outdoor area once she’s settled would be just wonderful for this beautiful girl.
