Please contact us if you are interested in offering Sofia her forever
Sofia came into our care in the middle of March after we’d had a call about a kitten having been dumped near a fairly remote Ayrshire farm. The farmer explained that she had some sort of injury to her face and also walked with a limp on one back leg. He thought she looked about 6 months old. When I went to collect Sofia and saw her for the first time I was really shocked to see what looked like a growth about 2 inches long coming out of the side of her forehead. It wasn’t possible to tell just by looking at it, of course, if this was the result of an injury or if it was a cancerous growth but it did look extremely painful and so an immediate trip to the vet was definitely called for. I’m very happy to say that the lump proved to be the result of an untreated injury and was removed and treated very successfully. While she was under anaesthetic te vet took some xrays of the leg displaying the slight limp and found, yet again, that this had been yet another injury ignored by her owners – the people who had dumped her on a hillside.
Sofia was a bit older than the farmer whose farm she turned up at had estimated being not a kitten but a young adult. It was quite understandable that he thought her to be only half grown as she’s such a little thing. Right from the start she’s been really sweet and just loves attention. If she thinks that hand stroking her is about to be removed she reaches out to pull it back! Sometimes she’ll even have a nibble at your hand but there’s nothing vicious about it at all. I’m pretty sure she would be in her element being the only animal in the house and the centre of attention. A home that would allow her access to a safe outdoor area once well settled would be perfect for Sofia. She’s spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and she has her bags all ready to pack once the right people come along to offer her the love and care she craves and deserves.
