Fans of Casualty will begin to see a pattern emerge as I decribe each of Connie’s kittens as the whole family is named after characters from the series, so we have Connie, Robin, Dylan, Max, Zoe and Lofty. Dylan (front of photo) is a bonnie boy with some ginger inherited from his tortie mum running through his tabby coat. As a result of Connie’s over-protective mummying skills (“You touch my babies and I kill you. Slowly”), her kittens weren’t subjected to as much handling as I would have liked when they were tiny. However, Dylan is quite a confident lad and is always in there, helping me with the tidying up (as he should since he and his family help to create the mess). Watching Amber’s kittens get fussed helps Connie’s realise that this Big Bad Human isn’t all that bad after all. In a new home situation, Dylan will be shy for a time so will need kind and understanding people to help him get past that. I feel he could be homed with older children who will play with him and help him feel safe. Young children have higher pitched voices, which might be initially scary, and don’t really understand why this new wee friend should want to hide away from them. A home with a garden would be nice for Dylan but an indoor home hasn’t been ruled out so long as he’s not an only cat as he does enjoy the company of his own kind. Dylan has been vaccinated and microchipped. so all he needs now is a human family to call his own.
