Darcie and another youngster were dumped at an Ayrshire farm last summer. I received a call about them when Darcie was heavily pregnant and spent a week trying to lure her into a trap. I caught the male cat the first night but Darcie wasn’t coming near! In the end, though, she simply walked into the trap when the farmer placed the food in it (and I was nowhere to be seen!) and the door was shut behind her. Wee minx. Not long afterwards, Darcie gave birth to four beautiful babies, all now in very happy homes. Initially, the idea was that Darcie would be spayed when her babies were homed and returned to the farm but it soon became clear that she was very much a domesticated cat. I asked the farmer for permission to find her a home and he agreed. On Wednesday 8th July, Darcie will  be spayed, microchipped and get her first set of vaccinations, with the second set being due three weeks later. When all that’s done, she’ll be ready to go on to her forever home. Although she’ll be shy to start with in a new situation, Sophie is just lovely when she gets settled. Her foster carers describe her as being a lovely, gentle, wee soul who just loves to have her tummy tickled with big purrs to prove the fact! Although she isn’t Darcie’s kitten, Sophie has become great friends with her. It would be just brilliant if the two could find a home together. As she was used to the freedom of tdoors, Darcie would need to find a home that would allow her access outside once settled.

Please contact us if you are interested in offering Darcie her forever home.
