Carla was living on a farm, quite unhandled, until she came into our care as a tiny baby in mid-August. Shy at first, it didn’t take Carla long to come round and prove herself to be the sweetest wee girl. She’s utterly adorable! When her equally adorable friends Jackman and Lucy went off to their new home together, I was concerned that Carla would be very lonely so she and I had a chat about it (yes, I know, but we do have these conversations) and came to a decision: as she’d just had her first vaccinations I would introduce her to Amber and Connie’s kittens and see how they accepted her in the shelters. However, in case it was too much of a change for her, I would stay with her at first just to make sure she wasn’t being used as a toy and then bring her in at bedtime to where she was used to sleeping beside Jackman and Lucy. Well, I have to say that this arrangement has worked very well for Carla. She quite happily gets tucked up inside my jumper in the morning and purrs all the way to Playgroup where her friends are waiting for her and then, at night, she gets tucked inside the jumper again and back to the house. Carla is so affectionate and just loves to be kissed and told how wonderful she is. She’ll make a fantastic addition to a family. Too young yet to be spayed, Carla is now due her second vaccinations to complete the set and will be microchipped at the same time.
