about domestic cats

Quite simply, domestic cats are cats than have been used to human contact and, for that reason, are usually not afraid of people. I say 'usually' because any animal that has been badly treated may well mistrust people until their confidence is won again.

Domestic cats are not a different species from so-called feral cats! I have known many a feral cat, given the chance and some time and patience, become much more soppy than its domestic counterpart. We have had literally thousands of kittens born to feral cats in our care, or taken from the streets, factories, farms etc and they grow up exhibiting the same personality traits witnessed in kittens born into a domestic situation.

Every litter has at least one Adventurer,an Adventurer’s Apprentice,a Scaredy Cat and a Philosopher who, from about the age of four whole weeks, will observe his crazy brothers and sisters with a look of great disdain, just wishing they would ‘act their age’…….
